Pictures of hope: Palestine Red Crescent mental health and psychosocial support for youth

I am in regular contact with colleagues in Gaza and their courage and commitment is a real inspiration and a reminder that even in the most extreme circumstances there are people willing to assist the children and youth suffering in situations over which they have no responsibility.

Many humanitarian workers including colleagues from Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) have been killed or injured in Gaza. They lost their lives trying to assist a civilian population suffering from bombings, chain displacement and a dire humanitarian situation. While the mental health implications for children and youth in Gaza will be felt for decades to come we received a glimpse of hope in the form of pictures from our colleagues in PRCS delivering MHPSS with the support of Egyptian Red Crescent prior to the closure of the Rafah border crossing – hope because we know their work will continue whenever and however possible.
