Baltic Sea Emergencies – Three hour session for DM staff and volunteers
The overall aim of the session for disaster teams in the Baltic Sea Red Cross Societies is for participants to be acquainted with the basic principles for mental health and psychosocial support in humanitarian settings. Participants will be informed about which mitigation measures they can take and skills to use in order to minimize the effect of mass trauma events. The session also focuses on leading different categories of volunteers as many spontaneous volunteers have come to assist in crisis situations in recent years. The session is developed for BALTPREP Project Enhancing Regional Preparedness and Response Capacity for major Accidents in the Baltic Sea Region 2019 to 2020. It can be adapted for other programmes and trainings of responders; please adapt and tailor to the context as needed.
