Heartbeat of Humanity: Mental health and psychosocial support in Eastern Africa

One of the biggest challenges of working with MHPSS is that it is perceived as a weaker component [of health work] because its invisible, and the implementation of MHPSS is invisible, so people don’t realize we are living with mental health issues

In this episode of Heartbeat of Humanity, Communications Officer, Trine, is interviewing Guleed Dualeh, IFRC PS Centre MHPSS Technical Advisor for the African Region and Psychological First Aid focal point. They talk about Guleed’s recent trip to Nairobi, Kenya, where he sat down with Red Cross MHPSS focal points for Kenya and South Sudan, Dorcas Khasowa (KE) and Marcos Tabule (SS), to talk about challenges and achievements of working with mental health in the Eastern African context.
