The vital task of assisting individuals searching for their missing loved ones during or after an emergency cannot be underestimated. This process is emotionally and mentally taxing for both the families seeking information and the dedicated Red Cross Red Crescent staff and volunteers involved. Recognizing the significance of this work, the PS Centre has published new language adaptions in respectively Arabic and French of two one-pagers “Supporting people with missing family memebrs” (2023) and “When a family member is missing” (2023) that provide guidance on supporting families. These resources aim to offer strategies to cope with the stress and strain associated with such challenging circumstances.
