The MHPSS work of ICRC

Some staff are counsellors or psychologists and they do provide psychological support to individuals affected by conflict and violence. Others are a part of what we call outreach teams or sensitization or community teams, and they work more on the psychosocial aspects of the programs.

In this episode of Heartbeat of Humanity, Technical Advisor Sarah Harrison interviews Milena Osorio, MHPSS Programme Coordinator at the International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC). They talk about ICRC’s MHPSS work, the populations they seek to assist, the delegates or staff providing services and how ICRC have been able to adapt their operations and services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The MHPSS team at ICRC consists of technical advisors, regional advisors and field delegates, who have various experiences and knowledge in clinical mental health treatment or in psychosocial supportListen to more Heatbeat of Humanity podcast episodes here or subscribe on Apple Podcast, Spotify, Google Podcast or wherever you find your podcasts.
