Last year, the IFRC network in Europe launched its biggest mental health response in history as a response to the impact on the mental health of people affected inside and outside of Ukraine. Specialist volunteers and staff in more than 30 countries including Ukraine are providing mental health and psychosocial support to hundreds of thousands of people.

In the history of the PS Centre, 2022 proved to be its busiest year. The combined force of emerging and sustained humanitarian conflicts, food crises, inflation, and the devastating consequences of seemingly unstoppable climate change as well as a still-lingering global pandemic, created unprecedented uncertainty and a huge demand for mental health and psychosocial support. The PS Centre received more requests for support from National Societies and other MHPSS stakeholders than at any time before.
