All over Europe and beyond, people are affected by the current crisis in Ukraine. Therefore, the PS Centre is hosting two online orientation sessions on Psychological First Aid. The sessions will equip you with information on what to do and what to say when you meet someone who needs a listening ear, and to be directed to the right help.
The orientation session will be conducted on Tuesday 8 March 1 pm to 4 pm CET and Wednesday 9 March 10 am to 1 pm CET.
Psychological First Aid is a key skill set that helps staff and volunteers to be able to support someone in emotional distress.
“The orientation sessions will cover how to assist others that are affected by challenging situations. We will cover the action principles of Look, Listen and Link and how these apply in different types of situations. The session also touches upon how to look after yourself when finding yourself in distressing situations”, says technical advisor Ea Suzanne Akasha.
The sessions will be run on ZOOM, participants are asked to have their camera on during parts of the session. The sessions have room for a limited number of participants only.
