In early 2022, as a result of the escalation of the Russia-Ukraine international armed conflict, millions of Ukrainians fled to neighbouring countries and beyond. More than 2.4 million Ukrainians migrated to Germany, and from the beginning the German Red Cross received, re-housed and provided mental health and psychosocial support to arriving Ukrainians.
With support fom IFRC and the IFRC Psychosocial Centre, the German Red Cross local branches Wesermarsch and Oldenburg offers psychosocial support through a variety of activities and services such as sports activities, language classes, exchange meetings, councelling and supervision.
